Colin Ireland

Background information

Birth name:Colin Ireland
Also known as:The Gay Slayer, The Coleherne Murderer, The Coleherne Killer.
Born:16 March 1954 Dartford, Kent, England, UK
Died:21 February 2012 (aged 57) HM Prison Wakefield

Penalty=Five Counts Of Life Imprisonment

Killings

Number of victims:5
Country:United Kingdom
Motive:Wanted to become a famous serial killer
Date apprehended:21 July 1993

Colin Ireland (16 March 1954 – 21 February 2012) was a British serial killer known as the "Gay Slayer" because his victims were homosexual men.

While living in Southend, he started frequenting The Coleherne pub, a gay pub in west London. It was known as a place where men cruised for sexual partners and wore colour coded handkerchiefs that indicated their preferred role. Ireland sought men who liked the passive role and sadomasochism, so he could readily restrain them as they initially believed it was a sexual game.

Ireland said he was heterosexual — he had been married — and that he pretended to be gay only to befriend potential victims. It is unknown whether Ireland's murders were sexually motivated. Ireland was highly organised. He carried a full murder kit of rope and handcuffs and a full change of clothes to each murder. After killing the victim he cleaned the flat of any forensic evidence linking him to the scene and stayed in the flat until morning in order to avoid arousing suspicion from leaving in the middle of the night. Criminologist David Wilson stated that Ireland was a psychopath.

He was jailed for life for the murders in December 1993 and remained imprisoned until his death in February 2012, at the age of 57.

Background information

Birth name-Peter Thomas Anthony Manuel
Also known as-The Beast of Birkenshaw
Born-13 March 1927 New York City, New York, United States
Died-11 July 1958 (aged 31)
Cause of death-Hanging
Conviction-Murder, Rape, Sexual assault
Sentence-Death

Killings

Number of victims:9-18+
Country-Scotland
Date apprehended-13 January 1958

Although Manuel confessed while in custody to killing eighteen people, he was tried in 1958 for the murders of only eight people. One of the cases against him was thrown out of court; another, committed in England, was attributed to him following his death.

Anne Kneilands: 17. On 2 January 1956, Kneilands was stalked onto an East Kilbride golf course, where she was raped and bludgeoned to death with a length of iron. Although he was questioned by police about the murder and would confess to it two years later, Manuel escaped arrest when his father provided him with an alibi. He was charged with this murder in 1958, but the case against him was dropped due to a lack of evidence.

Marion Watt, Vivienne Watt and Margaret Brown: 45, 17 and 41. Marion, her daughter Vivienne, and her sister Margaret were shot dead in their home in Burnside, Glasgow on 17 September 1956. At the time of the murders, Manuel was out on bail for a burglary at a nearby colliery and was suspected by officers in charge of the manhunt for the Watts’ killer, but he once again evaded capture, following the arrest of Marion’s husband, William. Although released two months later, William Watt was assumed guilty of the murders until 1958, when the Smart family were gunned down in their home just a few miles away.

Sydney Dunn: 36. Manuel shot and killed his fifth victim, taxi driver Sydney Dunn, on 8 December 1957 whilst looking for work in Newcastle upon Tyne. Dunn’s body was found on moorlands in Northumberland soon after, by which time Manuel had already returned to Lanarkshire. As with the case of Anne Kneilands, there remains some doubt as to whether or not Manuel did indeed kill Dunn. An inquiry into the murder, held a fortnight after the killer was hanged at Barlinnie, officially tied the crime to him after a button found in Dunn's taxi was matched to one of his jackets.

Isabelle Cooke: 17. Cooke disappeared after leaving her Mount Vernon home to go to a dance at Uddingston Grammar School on 28 December 1957. Manuel stalked, raped and strangled her, and then buried her in a nearby field. He would later lead officers to the spot where he had disposed of her body. As with Dunn’s murder twenty days earlier, Cooke’s disappearance was not initially connected to Manuel.

Peter, Doris and Michael Smart: 45, 42 and 10. The Smarts were shot dead in their Uddingston home on 1 January 1958. After the murders, Manuel stayed in their household for nearly a week, eating leftovers from a Hogmanay meal and even feeding the family cat, before stealing some brand new banknotes that Peter Smart had been keeping for a holiday, and taking the family car and dumping it nearby. Ironically, Manuel gave a lift in this car to a police officer investigating the disappearance of Isabelle Cooke, even telling him that he felt that the police were not looking in the right places. It was only following the Smarts’ murders that police realised a serial killer was on the loose, leading to the exoneration of William Watt.

Ronald Jebson Pedophile Serial Killer UK

Murders 3+

The Babes in the Wood murders is a name which has been used in the media to refer to a child murder case in which the bodies of multiple victims were found concealed in woodland.

The bodies of Susan Blatchford (eleven years old), and Gary Hanlon (twelve years old), were discovered in a thicket of trees on Lippitts Hill, Epping Forest, south-east England, after they went missing from their homes in Enfield, north London, in March 1970. Thirty years later, Ronald Jebson, already serving a life sentence for the 1974 murder of eight-year-old Rosemary Papper, confessed to the murders.

This guy was a real monster he was out to shock when he was busted the recorded interviews are harrowing.

Levi Bellfield

Background information

Born-17 May 1968 (age 44) Isleworth, Greater London, England
Conviction-Abduction, Attempted murder, Disposal of evidence, Murder.

Sentenced to:
Three whole life sentences (murder)
Whole life sentence (attempted murder)
15 years (abduction)

Killings

Number of victims-3+
Country-England
Date apprehended-22 November 2004

Bellfield was found guilty of the murders of McDonnell and Delagrange (as well as the attempted murder of Sheedy) on 25 February 2008. The following day, he was sentenced to life imprisonment with a recommendation that he should never be released. Bellfield was not in court to hear his sentence, as he had refused to attend court owing to "unfair press coverage" following his conviction.

Despite the trial judge's comments, the European Court of Human Rights has been reviewing whether lifelong imprisonment amounts to a violation of human rights legislation. Should the court decide that lifelong imprisonment is unlawful, then Bellfield and all other prisoners serving such sentences in Europe would have their cases recalled to court for a new minimum term to be set.

On 30 March 2010 Bellfield was charged with Dowler's abduction and murder. As a result, the inquest into the death was adjourned. On 6 October 2010 he appeared in court via video link and was formally charged with one count of attempted abduction, one count of abduction, one count of disposal of evidence[citation needed] and one count of murder.

The second Bellfield's trial began on 10 May 2011 and concluded on 23 June 2011 with the jury finding Bellfield guilty. He was again sentenced to life imprisonment the following day and the trial judge recommended that his life sentence should mean life – just as the judge at his trial for the other crimes had done three years earlier. The trial of Bellfield on another charge of attempted abduction of Rachel Cowles, an 11-year-old girl offered a lift in the Walton area by a man in a red car on 20 March 2002, was abandoned due to newspapers publishing prejudicial material, and the judge ordered that the charge should remain on file.

On 3 August 2011, it was reported that Bellfield had suffered facial cuts and bruising in an attack by a fellow prisoner in September 2010, and would be claiming compensation of up to £30,000 from the Prison Service. Three months later it was reported that Bellfield had converted to Islam; sources at Wakefield Prison claimed they "are convinced Bellfield is doing this for better meals and a cushier life" and "He has the right to pray five times a day so it gives him a break". It was also claimed that he had done it to avoid retribution from jailed Islamic extremists.

He's a real piece of shit, this guy sickens me to my stomach, great documentary 10/10

Also suspected of being the "Bible John Murderer" in his 20's

Upload 2moz

The 4 May 2007 conviction of Peter Tobin for the murder of student Angelika Kluk led to speculation that he is Bible John. According to a report in The Times, there are striking parallels between Bible John and Peter Tobin. All three of Tobin's former wives gave accounts of being imprisoned, throttled, raped and beaten by him. There are strong similarities between photographs of Tobin when aged in his 20s and the photo fit artist's impression of Bible John, and Tobin had moved from Glasgow in 1969 after marrying his first wife, whom he had met at the Barrowland ballroom the same year as the killings officially ended. It is alleged by his former wives that Tobin is driven to violence by the menstrual cycle, something which has long been suspected as the motive behind the Bible John murders. Additionally, Tobin was a Roman Catholic with strong religious views.

As a result of Operation Anagram in 2006 (set up to locate any other potential victims of Tobin), a woman said she had been raped by Tobin after she had met him at the Barrowland Ballroom in Glasgow in 1968 - around the time of the Bible John killings.

In 2007, author David Leslie's search for Hannah Martin, the key prosecution witness in a £50 million drug case he was researching for a book resulted in Hannah's daughter Isobel (a pseudonym) coming forward. Hannah had died in 2002 but from the authors interviews with Isobel and Hannah's friends he discovered she may have been another of Bible John's victims. In 1969, Hannah Martin had met a well dressed man at the Barrowland Ballroom who escorted her home. Hannah was raped by her escort in nearby Carmichael Street, the same location where Pat Docker had been killed, he fled after Hannah's screams were heard by local residents. Hannah said that her attacker had fair/red hair, wore a blue suit and had teeth overlapping one another; the same description as that given by Jeannie Williams. Hannah never reported the rape and only discussed it with her closest friends. To this day it is unknown if Bible John was behind this attack although the description suggests it could be the same offender. As a result of the rape Hannah fell pregnant and in 1970 gave birth to a daughter. David Leslie has suggested that Isobel's DNA could be compared to that of suspects.

In September 2010, the only woman ever to have come face-to-face with Bible John, Jean McLachlan, died aged 74, marking the end of the hunt for the killer. McLachlan, who shared a taxi with the mystery killer and her sister Helen Puttock, gave police the description used in the artist's impression, which remains the biggest clue to his appearance more than 40 years later. Although DNA had been used to rule out a previous suspect, detectives believe a DNA link to Tobin is unlikely due to a deterioration of the samples through poor storage.

It is not universally accepted that the three killings were the work of the same person. It has been claimed that the gap of 18 months between the first two killings is unusual with serial killers, the later two may have been copycat killings, and the police may even have hampered their own investigation by prematurely jumping to the conclusion that they were the work of the same person. Professor David Wilson, an expert in criminal behaviour, has stated that the 18 month gap is not unusual following a serial killer's first murder. Wilson investigated the case for three years and believes the available evidence supports that Peter Tobin is Bible John

THE JIGSAW MURDER. 2009

Stephen Marshall Murderer

Victim Jeffery Howe

Jeffrey Howe, a businessman from North London, was murdered in March 2009. His dismembered body parts were scattered across Hertfordshire and Leicestershire, leading to him being known in the press as Jigsaw Man. Stephen Marshall, who killed Howe, became known as the Jigsaw Killer. He initially pleaded "not guilty" to murder, but changed his plea to "guilty" and was sentenced to life imprisonment in February 2010

Howe was murdered on the night of 8–9 March 2009. He was stabbed twice in the back with a 4-inch blade, one of the wounds puncturing his lung. Howe may have been alive for up to an hour after he was stabbed. Marshall "skilfully and cleanly" removed Howe's limbs, which Home Office pathologist Simon Poole estimated would have taken at least 12 hours.

After the murder, Marshall and Bush used Howe's bank account, buying a laptop, shoes, takeaways, and other consumer goods and food. They set up an account with online retailer Littlewoods, some of the purchases being made on a computer in St. Albans library. They wrote forged cheques to clear his account. They sold some of his belongings, including his mobile phone, furniture, and his Saab car, which was sold on eBay. They said to Howe's friend Shehrya Khan that he had "packed up and left." Howe's adopted brother John visited the flat on 28 March and was told by Bush that Howe had not collected rent for a while and had left with his belongings

Discovery of his body

22 March. A left leg with the foot attached was found in a lay-by on the A507 in Cottered, Hertfordshire, wrapped in blue plastic bags. A murder investigation was launched.

29 March. A left forearm, dismembered at the elbow and wrist, was found on a grass verge along Drovers Lane, Wheathampstead.

31 March. A head was unearthed by a farmer in a cattle pen in a field in Asfordby, Leicestershire. The flesh had been removed and the eyes, ears, tongue and neck had been cut off.

7 April. A right leg was found in a holdall near the A10 Puckeridge bypass in Hertfordshire by a driver.

11 April. A torso, right arm and upper left arm were discovered in a ditch by a walker near Standon, Hertfordshire inside a green suitcase, the same brand as the holdall.

His hands have not been found, though Bush has said they were buried in Epping Forest.

Very good documentary single murder not serial killing but a very interesting case.

Robert Black A.K.A.: "Smelly Bob"

Classification: Serial killer
Characteristics: Child molester - Kidnapping - Rape
Number of victims: 4 +
Date of murders: 1969 - 1990
Date of arrest: July 14, 1990
Date of birth: April 21, 1947
Victims profile: Susan Maxwell, 11/ Caroline Hogg, 5/ Sarah Harper, 10/ Jennifer Cardy, 9
Method of murder: Strangulation
Location: United Kingdom
Status: Sentenced to life in prison (minimum 35 years) on May 19, 1994

Early crimes

While living with the Tulips, Robert Black developed sexual self-awareness at a young age. He later said that from the age of eight he would often push objects up his anus. This was a practice that he would continue into adulthood. As a young child, he also had an interest in the genitals of other children. At the age of five, he and a girl both took off their clothes and compared each other's genitals.

Black first attempted rape at the age of 12 along with two other boys. They attacked a girl in a field, but found themselves unable to complete the act of penetration. The authorities were notified and Black was moved to the Red House in Musselburgh. While there, a male staff member sexually abused him. It was while Black was at Red House that he also entered Musselburgh Grammar School, where he developed an interest in football and swimming.

At 15, Black left Red House and found a job working as a delivery boy in Greenock near Glasgow. He later admitted that, while on his rounds, he molested 30 to 40 girls with various degrees of success. None of these incidents seem to have been officially reported until his first conviction at the age of 17 when he lured a seven-year-old girl to a deserted building, strangled her until she lost consciousness and then masturbated over her unconscious body. He was arrested and convicted of 'lewd and libidinous' behavior for this offense, but received only an admonishment.

After this, Black moved back to Grangemouth and got a job with a builders' supply company. He also found a girlfriend, Pamela Hodgson, and asked her to marry him. Black was devastated when she ended the relationship several months later. In 1966, Black molested his landlord and landlady's nine-year old granddaughter. The girl eventually told her parents. They took no legal action but Black was ordered to leave the house.

At this time, Black moved back to Kinlochleven, where he was raised. He took a room with a couple who had a seven-year-old daughter. As before, Black molested the girl. This time, when the sexual abuse was discovered, police were notified. Black was sentenced to a year of borstal training at Polmont.

On his release, Black left Scotland and moved to London. His abuse of young girls subsided for a time when he discovered child pornography — when police searched his home after his arrests for murder, they discovered more than 100 magazines and 50 videos. In London, Black found work as a swimming pool attendant and would sometimes go underneath the pool, remove the lights and watch young girls as they swam. Soon, a young girl complained that Black had touched her and although no official charges were brought, Black lost his job.

While Black lived in London he spent a lot of time in pubs playing darts. He became a reasonably good player, and a well-known face on the amateur darts circuit. Darts world champion Eric Bristow knew Black vaguely during this time, remembering him as a "loner" who never seemed to have a girlfriend. In 1976, Black began working as a van driver. It was while working as a driver that he developed a thorough knowledge of some of the UK's roads, particularly its minor roads.

Murder of Jennifer Cardy

On 12 August 1981, nine-year-old Jennifer Cardy cycled from her house in Ballinderry, County Antrim in Northern Ireland to meet a friend. Her bicycle was recovered close to her home. Her body was found at McKee's Dam near Hillsborough, County Down six days later. She had been sexually assaulted. Black, who at the time was working in the area for a poster-delivery company, was convicted of her kidnap, sexual assault and murder at Armagh Crown Court on 27 October 2011. On 8 December 2011 he was sentenced to 25 years for her murder and told by the judge he would be at least 89 before he was considered for release.

Murder of Susan Maxwell

On 30 July 1982, 11-year-old Susan Maxwell from the village of Cornhill on Tweed, on the English side of the English/Scottish border left her home to play a game of tennis across the border in Coldstream. Several local witnesses remembered seeing her until she crossed the bridge over the River Tweed, after which there were no sightings of Susan. Nobody saw it happen, but at some point between the river and Coldstream, Susan was abducted by Black. He raped and strangled her and dumped her body about 250 miles away by the side of the A518 at Loxley near Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, England.

Murder of Caroline Hogg

On the evening of 8 July 1983, five-year-old Caroline Hogg from Portobello, an eastern suburb of Edinburgh, went out to play near her home for a few minutes. She never returned. Many witnesses reported seeing a scruffy-looking man watching a young girl, believed to be Caroline, in the playground near her home, then holding hands with her in a nearby amusement arcade. The man was Black. Caroline's body was found 10 days later in a ditch in Leicestershire, around 300 miles from her home. The cause of death could not be determined due to decomposition (as had been the case with Susan Maxwell), but the absence of clothes suggested a sexual motive.

Murder of Sarah Harper

Three years later, on 26 March 1986, 10-year-old Sarah Harper went missing from Morley in Leeds after leaving her home to go to the corner shop to buy a loaf of bread. The shopkeeper remembered Sarah coming in to the shop, but she never returned home. The last sighting of Sarah was of her walking towards the snicket that she used as a shortcut. Black kidnapped, raped and murdered her. Her body was found dumped in the River Trent near Nottingham a month later.

Real good Documentary about a very sick dude I think they should kill him rather than tax payers pay for him to live in like a hotel room.

Ten out of TEN documentary.

A man has been charged with three murders following the discovery of body parts in black bags in north London.

Anthony Hardy, 51, from Royal College Street, Camden, will appear at Hendon Magistrates Court on Monday.

He has been charged with the murders of Sally Rose White, Elizabeth Selina Valad and a 36-year-old woman who has not been formally identified.

The women died in January and December last year.

Prayers said

The remains of 29-year-old prostitute Miss Valad, from Nottingham, and an unidentified woman were discovered at a flat in Camden and in nearby bins on Monday.

Miss Valad, who was of English and Iranian parentage, moved to London from Nottingham 12 years ago, aged 17.

She was identified by her breast implants. Parts of her legs and torso were found but her head and hands are still missing.

Ms White died in January at an address in Royal College Street.

A post-mortem examination at the time showed that she died of a heart attack, but new evidence has now led to the murder charge.

Earlier on Sunday prayers were said for the two women whose body parts were found.

RUSSIA TIME!!!

Alexander Yuryevich "Sasha" Pichushkin A.K.A.: "The Bitsa Park Maniac" - "The Chessboard Killer"

Classification: Serial killer
Characteristics: "Life without murder is like a life for you without food"
Number of victims: 49 +
Date of murders: 1992 - 2006
Date of arrest: June 14, 2006
Date of birth: April 9, 1974
Victims profile: Men and women
Method of murder: Hitting with a hammer
Location: Moscow, Russia
Status: Sentenced to life in prison on October 29, 2007

Alexander Yuryevich "Sasha" Pichushkin (Russian: Алекса́ндр Ю́рьевич Пичу́шкин, born 9 April 1974 in Mytishchi, Moscow Oblast), also known as The Chessboard Killer and The Bitsa Park Maniac, is a Russian serial killer. He is believed to have killed at least 49 people and up to 61–63 people in southwest Moscow's Bitsa Park, where several of the victims' bodies were found.

Murders

Pichushkin committed his first murder as a student in 1992 and stepped up his crimes in 2001. Russian media have speculated that Pichushkin may have been motivated by a macabre competition with Russia's most notorious serial killer, Andrei Chikatilo, who was convicted in 1992 of killing 53 children and young women in 12 years. Pichushkin has said his aim was to kill 64 people, the number of squares on a chessboard. He later recanted this statement, saying that he would have continued killing indefinitely if he had not been stopped.

Pichushkin primarily targeted elderly homeless men by luring them with vodka. After drinking with them, he would kill them, hitting them on the head with a hammer. He then stuck vodka bottles in their skulls to ensure that they did not survive. He also targeted younger men, children and women. He would always attack from behind to avoid spilling blood on his clothes. He claimed that while killing people he felt like God as he decided whether his victims should live or die. "In all cases I killed for only one reason. I killed in order to live, because when you kill, you want to live," he once said. "For me, life without murder is like life without food for you. I felt like the father of all these people, since it was I who opened the door for them to another world." Experts at the Serbsky Institute, Russia's main psychiatric clinic, have found Pichushkin sane.

According to the documentary, "Serial Killers", Pichushkin, once apprehended, led police officers to the scenes of many of his crimes in Bitsa Park. He demonstrated a keen recollection of how the murders were committed, often acting them out in great detail, which has been committed to film. He also revealed that a number of the murders he committed were not done in his preferred method (hammer blows to the back of the head), but by throwing his victims down into the sewers underneath Bitsa Park (although one of his victims did survive the ordeal).

The murder of Marina Moskalyova, 36, in the summer of 2006, was his last. When a metro ticket was found in her possession at the time her body was found, authorities were able to view the last footage of her alive from surveillance tapes of the Moscow metro system, where she was walking on the platform accompanied by Pichushkin.

Trial and imprisonment

He was arrested on 15 June 2006, and convicted on 24 October 2007 of 49 murders and three attempted murders. He asked a Russian court to add an additional 11 victims to his body count, bringing his claimed death toll to 60 and 3 surviving victims. During the trial, he was housed in a glass cage. It took Judge Vladimir Usov an hour to read the verdict: life in prison with the first 15 years to be spent in solitary confinement.

Nikolai "The Russian" Radev (29 January 1959 – 15 April 2003) was a Bulgarian refugee who became known as a career criminal in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

During his life he was jailed for assault, blackmail, threats to kill, extortion, firearm offences, armed robbery and drug charges. According to police he was an enforcer for the Melbourne head of the Russian mafia, robbing drug dealers.

Radev was shot and killed in Queen St Coburg on 15 April 2003 in a series of similar events that are commonly referred to as the Melbourne gangland killings.

He was shot seven times in the head and chest in front of his bodyguard after he stood out from his black Mercedes Benz CLK 500 convertible. A third person in Nic Radev's entourage was driving a light green 2000 Toyota Camry CSI sedan parked directly in front of his Mercedes Benz near the corner of Queen & Reynard Streets, Coburg also witnessed the murder.[citation needed]

Victoria Police told The Age that they believed his death was planned by a father and son drug manufacturing team, and a hitman suspected of four other murders carried out the killing in a red Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo sedan. His associates Damien Cossu and Alfonso Traglia were with Radev at the time of the murder but claimed they could not identify the gunman, and were subsequently named by police as 'persons of interest'.

Despite only having worked for eight months during the 1980s at a fish and chip shop, Radev was killed wearing Versace clothing and a $20,000 watch, and was buried in a gold-plated coffin.

Victoria Police suspected Andrew Veniamin and Carl Williams were behind the killing. He was portrayed by Don Hany in the Australian TV series Underbelly and the subsequent telemovie Underbelly Files: Tell Them Lucifer was Here.

Anatoly Onoprienko A.K.A.: "The Beast of Ukraine" - "Terminator" - "Citizen O"

Classification: Serial killer
Characteristics: Robberies
Number of victims: 52
Date of murders: 1989 - 1996
Date of arrest: April 16, 1996
Date of birth: July 25, 1959
Victims profile: Men, women and children
Method of murder: Shooting
Location: Ukraine
Status: Sentenced to death April 1999. Commuted to life in prison August 1999

Anatoly Onoprienko

On April 1st 1999, a Ukrainian court of law convicted one of the most brutal serial killers in history for the murder of 52 people. Anatoli Onoprienko, 39, confessed the murders, but never showed any remorse: "I know it's cruel, but I'm a robot that's driven to kill. I don't feel a thing'. He was nicknamed 'The Terminator'.

Onoprienko killed most of his victims during the three months before he got arrested in April 1996. He traveled the country by train for three years and picked his victims by random. The children themselves were often horribly mutilated. He used fire weapons, knives, axes and hammers. The killings followed a set pattern. "The Terminator" chose isolated houses in the outskirts of villages. He would enter the houses before dawn, round up the family and shoot them all -- including children. Then he would torch the place and kill whoever crossed his path during his murderous outbursts. He often stole valuables from his victims and sometimes scattered family photographs about the floor. After each murder, he kept the underwear his victims wore. He regarded them as relics. Sometimes he even gave them to his girlfriend, Anna, as a present.

He claims he can recollect every single murder. "A soldier who kills during a war doesn't see who he hits. Someone who kills just a few times doesn't have any control; he can't analyze his actions. I can, because I've killed a lot. I perfectly remember; once I killed a couple and their three children in their car. I went to sit on the father, and I drove around the country with the five bodies. That was quite interesting."

Onoprienko stays insensitive and analyzes every single murder in a scientific way. He claims he never thought of himself as an ordinary killer, he always felt as a top-surgeon. "When you see it like that, I'm a very unique person. I did things nobody else does. These all were unique events."

April 1996, the police finally arrested Onoprienko, father of a little boy himself, at his girlfriend's house, after a nationwide manhunt. After being captured, the former sailor confessed he had already killed nine people in 1990.

Onoprienko's son looks up to him, but ever since he found out his dad's the serial killer; he becomes more and more aggressive. In an interview he said: "Killing someone with a knife is boring. One can better do it with bare hands, by strangling, or to fire a gun. It must be impressive to see the bullet fly and see it penetrate a body from a distance."

Unlike most serial killers, Onoprienko wasn't driven by any sexual motives during his killing journeys. Neither is he psychiatrically disturbed, but examinations prove that he's intelligent and fully sane. Some experts search for suitable motives in his miserable childhood. His mother died when he was four years old, and when he got seven, his father sent him to an orphanage. According to his ex-wife, Onoprienko also kills children to avoid them to end up in orphanages, like he did.

When he got 17, he became a sailor, and he met his future wife. On his sea trips, his merciless fantasies got shaped. Onoprienko himself claims he hasn't become a murderer by his own free will. "I've been chosen to fulfill a mission. In a way, I feel related with Messir, the hero from the Russian author Bulgakow's book. He was evil, and so am I. I did what I had to do: kill people. I don't owe any more explanation to my victims, their families and the police." He also claims he spoke to Hitler once, and that this one advised him to unchain a new world war.

Shortly after he got arrested, Onoprienko called himself a hostage, who had to be put on trial wrongly. He claimed the police should first track down the unknown force that drove him. He does admit that he looks forward to the gigantic attention of the press. He's been sentenced to death, but as Russia can't perform any capital punish ments anymore since it joined the Council of Europe, his punishment was replaced by a life sentence in the Zhytomyr prison, although Onoprienko himself wanted to be executed.

The fact that he killed 52 people is a neglectable detail to Onoprienko. "None of my victims resisted. Armed or not, man or woman, none of them dare to do anything. A human being doesn't mean anything. I've only seen weak people. I compare humans to sand-grains. There are so much of them that they don't mean a thing."

Rare Documentary big hitter from the USSR.

The Murders Begin...

On 22nd December 1978, Chikatilo killed his first documented victim; 9 year old Lena Zakotnova was lured into an abandoned shed, where Chikatilo tried to rape her. Trying to control the struggling child, Chikatilo slashed her with a knife, ejaculating whilst doing so, confirming his psychological connection between violent death and sexual gratification that went on to typify all future attacks.

An eyewitness had seen Chikatilo with the victim, shortly before her disappearance, but his wife provided him with a cast-iron alibi that enabled him to evade any further police attention. A 25-year old, Alexsandr Kravchenko, with a previous rape conviction, was arrested and confessed to the crime under duress, probably as a result of extensive and brutal interrogation. He was tried for the killing of Lena Zakotnova, and executed in 1984.

Perhaps as a result of his close brush with the law, there were no more documented victims for the next three years. Still dogged by claims of child abuse, Chikatilo found it impossible to find another teaching post, when he was made redundant from his mining school post, in early 1981. He took a job as a clerk for a raw materials factory in Rostov, where the travel involved with the position gave him unlimited access to a wide range of young victims, over the next 9 years.

On 3rd September 1981, Larisa Tkachenko, 17, became his next victim, strangled, stabbed and gagged with earth and leaves, to prevent her crying out. The brutal force afforded Chikatilo his sexual release, and he began to develop a pattern of attack that saw him focussing on young runaways of both sexes, whom he befriended at train stations and bus stops, before luring them into nearby forest areas, where he would attack them, attempt rape and use his knife, as a penis substitute, to mutilate them. In a number of cases he ate the sexual organs, or removed other body parts such as the tips of their noses or tongues. In the earliest cases, the common pattern was to inflict damage to the eye area, slashing across the sockets and removing the eyeballs in many cases, an act which Chikatilo later attributed to a belief that his victims kept an imprint of his face in their eyes, even after death.

At this time serial killers were a virtually unknown phenomenon in the Soviet Union, whether as a result of suppression of information, or wider cultural differences between Soviet and Western societies. Evidence of serial killing, or child abuse, was often suppressed by State-controlled media, in the interests of public order. The eye mutilation was a modus operandi distinct enough to allow for other cases to be linked, when the Soviet authorities finally admitted that they had a serial killer to contend with. As the body count mounted, rumours of foreign inspired plots, and werewolf attacks, became more prevalent, and public fear and interest grew, despite the lack of any media coverage.

In 1983 Moscow detective, Major Mikhail Fetisov, was seconded to Rostov to assume control of the investigation. He recognised that a serial killer might be on the loose, and assigned a specialist forensic analyst, Victor Burakov, to head the investigation in the Shakhty area. The investigation centred on known sex offenders, and the mentally ill, but such were the interrogation methods of the local police that they regularly solicited false confessions from prisoners, leaving Burakov sceptical of the majority of these “confessions”. Progress was slow, especially as, at that stage, not all of the victim’s bodies had been discovered, so the true body count was unknown to the police. With each body, the forensic evidence mounted, and police were convinced that the killer had the blood type AB, as evidenced by the semen samples collected from a number of crime scenes. Samples of identical grey hair were also retrieved.

When a further 15 victims were added during the course of 1984, police efforts were increased drastically, and they mounted massive surveillance operations that canvassed most local transport hubs. Chikatilo was arrested for behaving suspiciously at a bus station at this time, but again avoided suspicion on the murder charges, as his blood type did not match the suspect profile, but he was imprisoned for 3 months for a number of minor outstanding offences.

What was not realised at the time was that Chikatilo’s actual blood type, type A, was different to the type found in his other bodily fluids (type AB), as he was a member of a minority group known as “non-secretors”, whose blood type cannot be inferred by anything other than a blood sample. As police only had a sample of semen, and not blood, from the crime scenes, Chikatilo was able to escape suspicion of murder. Today’s sophisticated DNA techniques are not subject to the same fallibility.

Following his release, Chikatilo found work as a travelling buyer for a train company, based in Novocherkassk, and managed to keep a low profile until August 1985, when he murdered two women in separate incidents.

At around the same time as these murders, Burakov, frustrated at the lack of positive progress, engaged the help of psychiatrist, Alexandr Bukhanovsky, who refined the profile of the killer, describing him as a “necro-sadist”, or someone who achieves sexual gratification from the suffering and death of others. Bukhanovsky also placed the killer’s age as between 45 and 50, significantly older than had been believed up to that point. Desperate to catch the killer, Burakov even interviewed a serial killer, Anatoly Slivko, shortly before his execution, in an attempt to gain some insight into his elusive serial killer.

Coinciding with this attempt to understand the mind of the killer, attacks seemed to dry up, and police suspected that their target might have stopped killing, been incarcerated for other crimes, or died. However, early in 1988, Chikatilo again resumed his killing, the majority occurring away from the Rostov area, and victims were no longer taken from local public transport outlets, as police surveillance of these areas continued. Over the next two years the body count increased by a further 19 victims, and it appeared that the killer was taking increasing risks, focussing primarily on young boys, and often killing in public places where the risk of detection was far higher.

The recently unfettered media of Gorbachev’s Glasnost society placed enormous public pressure on police forces to catch the killer, and general police patrols were stepped up, with Burakov targeting likely areas with undercover police in an attempt to flush out the killer. Chikatilo evaded capture narrowly, on a couple of occasions, but on 6th November 1990, fresh from killing his final victim, Sveta Korostik, his suspicious behaviour was noted by patrolling policemen at the station nearby, and his details were taken. His name was linked to his previous arrest in 1984, and he was placed under surveillance.

Documentary is a pure 10/10 must see.

Uploaded this to Daily Motion, they removed it and warned me not to upload the likes of it again or they would terminate my account, videos of Anatoly Slivko murdering seven young boys.

Anatoly Slivko killed his first victim, an unidentified homeless boy he estimated to be around 15 years old, in 1964. Slivko claimed this particular victim was killed unintentionally. Upon being unable to revive this boy once he was unconscious, Slivko dismembered the boys body and buried him. He also destroyed the film and photographs he had taken of this particular victim. Nine years later, on November 14, 1973 a 15-year-old boy named Aleksander Nesmeyanov disappeared in Nevinnomyssk, southern RSFSR.

Two years later, on May 11, 1975, an 11-year-old boy named Andrei Pogasyan vanished. The boy’s mother told the police that a man had made some video recordings in a nearby forest and that her son was going to participate, but the police didn’t do anything to prevent this because they knew the man and he had won awards for some of his videos. The man’s name was Anatoly Slivko and he had a club for boys named Chergid.

In winter 1975, a prison inmate claimed he knew where Aleksander Nesmeyanov was buried, but the police searched the area and found nothing, proving the claim was false. Five years later, in 1980, a 13-year-old boy named Sergei Fatsiev disappeared; as with Nesmeyanov and Pogasyan, he was a member of Chergid.

The next victim was a 15-year-old named Slava Khovistik, who was killed in 1982. On July 23, 1985, Slivko killed his final victim, a 13-year-old boy named Sergei Pavlov. He disappeared after telling a neighbour he was going to meet the leader of Chergid.

Sexual sadist and pedophile Anatoly Slivko (Russia) was convicted of the sexual murder of seven boys. He was hanging his victims… some of them till their death. He videotaped all his “executions”.
