Based on the failed June 28, 2005 mission "Operation Red Wings". Four members of SEAL Team 10 were tasked with the mission to capture or kill notorious Taliban leader Ahmad Shahd.

Director: Peter Berg

A great war movie. Not as tense as The Hurt Locker but still very thrilling.

In the pre-Civil War United States, Solomon Northup (Chiwetel Ejiofor), a free black man from upstate New York, is abducted and sold into slavery. In the twelfth year of his unforgettable odyssey, Solomon's chance meeting with a Canadian abolitionist (Brad Pitt) will forever alter his life.

Director: Steve McQueen
Writers: John Ridley (screenplay), Solomon Northup (based on "Twelve Years a Slave" by)

A fictional film set in the alluring world of one of the most stunning scandals to rock our nation, American Hustle tells the story of brilliant con man Irving Rosenfeld (Christian Bale), who along with his equally cunning and seductive British partner Sydney Prosser (Amy Adams) is forced to work for a wild FBI agent Richie DiMaso (Bradley Cooper). DiMaso pushes them into a world of Jersey powerbrokers and mafia that's as dangerous as it is enchanting. Jeremy Renner is Carmine Polito, the passionate, volatile, New Jersey political operator caught between the con-artists and Feds. Irving's unpredictable wife Rosalyn (Jennifer Lawrence) could be the one to pull the thread that brings the entire world crashing down.

Director: David O. Russell
Writers: Eric Singer, David O. Russell
Stars: Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Bradley Cooper

Loved this movie, Great cast, Great Music & most of all great hair!

My overall rating  9/10. An American classic!

Deep into a solo voyage in the Indian Ocean, an unnamed man (Redford) wakes to find his 39-foot yacht taking on water after a collision with a shipping container left floating on the high seas. With his navigation equipment and radio disabled, the man sails unknowingly into the path of a violent storm. Despite his success in patching the breached hull, his mariner's intuition and a strength that belies his age, the man barely survives the tempest. Using only a sextant and nautical maps to chart his progress, he is forced to rely on ocean currents to carry him into a shipping lane in hopes of hailing a passing vessel. But with the sun unrelenting, sharks circling and his meager supplies dwindling, the ever-resourceful sailor soon finds himself staring his mortality in the face.

Director: J.C. Chandor
Writer: J.C. Chandor
Stars: Robert Redford

Good survival movie. Another good performance by Redford even though he doesn't say much in it.

My overall rating 7.5/10

Lone Survivor (2013)
Pretty good war film and it's a true story, bad judgment call by those troops, worth a look. 7/10

All Is Lost (2013)
Well done movie, I guess Redford figured if Hanks can do it so can he, almost a silent movie. 7/10

Carrie (2013)
This is one of those films that didn't need to be remade, still wasn't bad though. 6/10

Dallas Buyers Club (2013)
Great acting all around and a true story, but I just couldn't get into it, the only thing that caught my attention was the ongoing deal with the government controlling so called legal drugs.   6/10

That bad?

What's the idea in doing a remake of stuff like this?
It always ends up being like a bad cover of a classic song.....

Nice try but fuck guys how can you sell out in a couple of minutes...

Say what you want about these films but i like them. I'm a sucker for fantasy movies, it's the kid still in me i guess. And this one is no different, now i will say it's not the LOFTR but is equally as good. This one doesn't disappoint, great special effects, highly entertaining and just plain fun.
